September Hotel Holiday
Next September we plan to try a hotel holiday provided by Ramblers Countrywide Holidays. This is a company that many members have already used and they have been pleased with the experience.
Our chosen holiday is three nights from Friday 18 September in the village of Loxton in Somerset. The hotel is owned by Best Western and is The Webbington Hotel, Shiplate Road, Loxton, Nr Axbridge, Somerset. The website is
www.latonahotels.co.uk/webbington-home.html
The total cost for the three nights is £192 pp sharing a double room, dinner, bed and breakfast and packed lunches on the two days a walk leader is provided. The single person supplement for the weekend is £18.
A non-refundable deposit of £75 per person is required now to confirm the booking. You may insure yourself whilst on the holiday, including the cost of cancellation in the usual circumstances, for £9 up to the age of 64 and £18 for 65 plus.
Walks are described as “moderate” and we are briefed each evening on the next day’s events and walks can usually be modified to suit most requirements. A reasonable level of fitness is of course, required.
We are promised a variety of walking in the Mendip Hills. This holiday should match the standards set in previous hotel holidays.
Spaces could be in short supply because Ramblers Holidays do not take over the entire hotel. If you are interested you should contact Jim now (01621 891055).
